Prawn Briyani Recipe

 

This one is takes patience but tastes like heaven, will take around an hour to cook for 3-4 persons.

• Ingredients

• Rice: 250g
• Oil : 2tbs
• Butter : 2tbs
• Onion : 2 large sliced thinly
• Tomato : 1 large sliced
• Green Chili : 2 slit
• Ginger Garlic Paste : 1tbs
• Chili Powder : 2 tsp
• Coriander Powder : 1.5 tbs
• Curd / Yogurt : 3tbs
• Salt to taste
• Coriander leaves : 1/4 cup finely chopped
• Mint Leaves : 1/4 cup finely chopped
• Saffron a pinch
• Warm Milk : 4tbs

• Marinade

• Prawns : 20 medium size
• Chili Powder : 1 tsp
• Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
• Salt to taste
• Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 tsp

• Steps

1. Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Start by cooking rice, bring lots of water to a boil, add salt to it and when it reached a rolling boil, add in rice and cook for 7 to 8 minutes till the rice is 90% cooked. Drain and set aside.
3. Mix the prawns while marinating and set aside.
4. Heat butter and oil in a pot in which you are going to make biryani.
5. Add in the prawns and cook on high heat for 2 minutes. Remove it and set aside.
6. In the same oil add in onions, chilies and sauté till golden.
7. Now remove half of the fried onions to a plate and set aside.
8. In the remaining fried onions, add in ginger garlic paste and sauté for a min.
9. Add in spice powders and mix well.
10. Add in tomatoes and cook till mushy.
